3 Sisters Padstal / Farmstore

I love Padstals they place me in a holiday frame of mind before reaching our destination, providing a sensory lift during a long drive.  I love the Karoo for its simple canvas and colourful character.  3 Sisters marries these two loves.   This Padstal in the Karoo on the N1 between Joburg and Cape Town, is one of my top 3 favourite padstals (farm stalls).  Exploring shelves of unique drinks, preserves and condiments I search for little gifts and treats.  Fjord was enchanted by a good old-fashioned pop gun which he discovered.  Sitting down for a good, strong, wake up coffee hit bulls eye.

Reluctantly we returned to the car, continuing our journey after watching Kallis nearing a score of 100 in his final test cricket match.  The biltong which we bought provided a healthy snack for the kids to enjoy on the drive.  My mind returned to play on the Karoo landscape viewed from the car window.

I think next time we do the trek to the Cape we should have our overnight stop at Travalia Guest Farm which is also owned and run by The Herholdt family on the same property.
