Miss Grace Country Food House – a real treat

A friend who has visited and enjoyed the Walkerville Market sent me a link to joburg.co.za’s post about it.  On Saturday we set forth to the market.  Unfortunately because most stall holders were at the annual Walkerville Agricultural Show down the road we could not form a real impression of the market but we will return.  We popped into the show for a while then got hungry and couldn’t find suitable food for the family (most offerings were not savory).

I remembered that the post about the market mentioned a lovely eatery in the area and we headed to Miss Grace Country Food House at Thornbirds.  We were not disappointed, the garden setting is so tranquil and tasteful.  The children were delighted to find the play area.

When our food arrived we were very impressed.  The children shared a very good kids pizza, I had the Haloumi Ciabatta which I shared with my adult daughter Domi and Cliff had the smoked chicken ciabatta.  Our meals were beautifully presented and excellent, the portions generous and very good value for money.  I haven’t had shoestring chips for years, they went down a treat.

I have already recommended Miss Grace to friends and we will certainly be back, maybe for afternoon tea and cake after our next shot at visiting the market.
