9 times out of 10 when I love a restaurant it is because it has an outdoor eating area. On a beautiful day it seems sacrilegious to be cooped up indoors. Malls and restaurants which overlook a parking lot do nothing for me. My children are always with me which makes a good play area very appealing. Last week while visiting my family in Umdloti my Sister In Law suggested a visit to Burnedale with my Mum and our children. We enjoyed our lunch in the shade (in my case a naughty waffle) then browsed the tasteful shops.
I did some serious coveting at the pottery shop, the hand painted pottery is expensive, for example a dinner plate is R185 but a piece would make a special gift for someone. It is a great place to look for a 9th anniversary gift (that gift theme is pottery). If any friends or family are reading this my birthday is 1st July and I particularly loved the Dragonfly coffee mugs 🙂
A few days later when meeting my Dad for coffee we returned to Burnedale, high praise to visit the same place twice during an all too short week.
Notes : Burnedale is in Umhlali, very close to Ballito and Salt Rock. Children under 5 have a separate supervised play area which costs R10 for unlimited time on the day.
