My daughter’s fiance Duncan will make a great son-in-law. He endeared himself even further when he took me to Leafy Greens for what may have been my best lunch ever. Leafy Greens Cafe is a vegan and vegetarian restaurant in Muldersdrift. Although I love vegetarian fare I am neither vegan nor vegetarian. The buffet lunch was a visual feast which followed through with sublime flavour. It was hard to choose from the splendid array. Each mouthful was an adventure and a delight as subtle flavours revealed themselves.
After a healthy meal, I love feeling satisfied but not engorged. At Leafy Greens further appeal is the fact that most of the vegetables are grown on the family farm, thus being organic and garden fresh. Another venue which offers similar wonderful food is Margaret Roberts Herbal Centre, unfortunately this is only open 1 Saturday a month and on Wednesdays.
A recipe book of their offerings is on sale at the shop, along with a range of health foods and ingredients. I have long searched for tahini to make hummus and they stock it.
Thank you again Duncan for the treat of visiting Leafy Greens.
