Today I’m not sharing an experience or thought with you but looking for advice. My Children’s picture book ‘Snuffles and the Cloud People’ is at long last ready to be uploaded to Amazon and any other sites which you may recommend. I will be doing so within the next few days …. drumroll! I would be deeply grateful for any advice from those who have gone the digital publishing route as this is a first for me and I don’t want to make any mistakes.

I’ve found it best to enrol with amazon’s KDP to start with. It does mean that you can’t publish anywhere else, but it’s a good way to get started. Also if you can give your book to someone to read and give an honest review, that always helps.
Thank you. I have had 2 editors read through the work and make a few changes so think that this final draft is as polished as I will get it.
Yes, KDP Select is a good start. Smashwords, however, converts your manuscript to various electronic files and distributes to a host of online retailers. It’s a bit tricky to format your manuscript for conversion, though their online guide is very helpful. Contact me if you want to discuss.
Thank you very much for your comment and offer to help, very much appreciated. At present because it has been designed in a layout with words over pictures we have technical problems converting the files but once that is done I may need to contact you.
Sure, let me know. I taught myself enough XHTML to format my memoir, but it gets more difficult when there are many images involved. Not impossible, though 🙂 Good luck.
