Sesame Chicken Strips for chicken salad


After we had an amazing Sesame Chicken Salad at Natal Spa a few years ago I searched for a recipe to make my own.  I battled to find one which I was completely happy with and came up with this recipe.

Sesame Chicken Strips (serves 4)

Marinade Ingredients

4 Filleted chicken breasts

25ml Soya Sauce

10ml Sweet & Sour sauce

10ml Honey

5ml ground ginger

Coating Ingredients

180ml sesame seeds

60ml bread crumbs

5ml mixed dried herbs

5ml salt


Cut the chicken into strips and place in a dish.  Stir in soya sauce, sweet chilli sauce, honey and ginger.  Cover and refrigerate for at least an hour.

Mix together the coating ingredients and coat chicken pieces.

Coat the base of baking pan with thin layer of oil and bake at 190 deg. C for 15 – 20 mins,  turning once.  You can also shallow fry the pieces if you prefer.

Make your favourite green salad and place the chicken on top.
