When I received a package of Slime Baff and Gelli Baff from Zimpli kids to review, Fjord couldn’t wait to try them out. If you think this stuff is just for little kids you’re wrong, Fjord is 10 and I couldn’t get him out of the bath either time. I wish that I’d timed it, but I’m certain that on both occasions he was playing in the bath for over an hour. I love the idea of these as gifts as they provide boundless fun and entertainment yet don’t become meaningless plastic clutter in over full cupboards.
You know how kids love playing with a little tub of slime? We even made our own from craft glue recently. Imagine how they would respond to sitting in a bath of the stuff. It’s like the kids equivalent to someone like me having a bottomless cup of coffee a giant slab of chocolate and a book in hand.
It took a while for us to get around to using the Gelli Baff as I knew that it would have to be done when there was a min of an hour to spare while he enjoyed it. When Acacia (who for some odd reason didn’t want to try either) asked Fjord if it it’s like a bath he replied “No it’s like the best occasion of one’s life”. (Yes he does have a unique turn of phrase). He kept calling me to show me different things, how dropping a ball of it created a crater like a meteor impact. How stuff sat on top of it. how he could shoot it from his hands. I was a little concerned that it would jam up our drains but it’s quite amazing how the 2nd sachet turns it back to liquid when the fun is over.
Slime Baff and Gelli Baff are available from Toys R Us.
