The Stars Shine Down – my 1st Sydney Sheldon read

I have never read a Sydney Sheldon before, this week I read ‘The Stars Shine Down’, another mystery find from our bookshelf.  I have no idea where some of my books appear from.  Before ever reading anything by him for some reason I had decided that he and Danielle Steel were similar, maybe it has something to do with cover design I don’t know.  At the end of the book I decided that there were elements in common with Danielle Steel (I have only read 2 of her books) the protagonist was extremely wealthy and famous as have been the characters in her books.

There was nothing particularly special about the book but it held my attention.   Although Sydney Sheldon succeeded in gaining a measure of my concern for the Lara the central character, I did not particularly like her, she was thrifty with the truth and relatively  ruthless in getting what she wanted.  If I met her in real life I would certainly classify her as a bitch.

When I fancy a light read, I will probably read other of his books but I won’t be in much of a rush to do so.
