Acacia loves getting muddy from head to foot, I often call her my troll doll. She also loves to dress up like a princess. Sadly at almost 6 she will soon outgrow her love for sparkles and will steer away from the princess phase. I looked for a long time for a pattern to make pretty skirts with sparkly net/tulle. This New Look pattern 6409 view D is perfect, I’ve made 6 of them now. Every little girl who invites her to a party has received a sparkly skirt as a gift. They are easy to make and perfect. The best ones were made with satin as the underskirt and waistband.
I cut the net layers in tiers each colour on a different age hem line. I finished each net layer with ribbon. You can make as many net layers as you wish, I don’t think I’ve done one with more than 3.
