This morning we are going to Clifford’s friend Bronwen’s funeral, she was tragically killed in a car accident. Just weeks ago while we were staying in the Natal Midlands, Clifford took Fjord to Pietermaritzburg Museum where Bronwen worked as a curator. She took him on a personal tour of the museum and he came home awed with all that he had seen. This poem is not good, maybe I will write a better tribute later or in the future but here it is. The world has lost someone very special.
RIP BRONWEN
There’s a pain in my heart
and lead in my chest
a sense of deep loss
for what’s laid to rest
There’s a stone on my tongue
a word that is gone
and I’m drifting at sea
in a world all gone wrong
There’s a tear and a sigh
There’s a dream
come to ground
there’s a hole in my whole
because you’re not around
Sorry to hear of your loss 🙁 Beautiful poem.
My sincerest condolences Sula. This is a beautiful tribute.
