Special not spooky Ghost Mountain Inn

The word ‘Inn’ always hooks my imagination.  Preceding it with ‘Ghost Mountain’ is utterly Enchanting.  On our trip to Gugulesizwe we broke the drive with an overnight stop.  Despite an array of choices in the proximity of Mkuze I could not be swayed from my fixation on Ghost Mountain Inn.

With temps around 40 C the pools provided blissful relief.

Children under 12 stayed free which is very welcome on family holidays.  The supper buffet was sublime but I misheard the price as R195 instead of the actual R295 (gulp), better hearing would have led me to the a la carte menu.

Ghost Mountain Inn was a delightful stop but I still need to find an incarnation of the Inn of my imagination.  It should probably look out on a moody ocean, with shuttered windows gazing from a weathered Tudor style exterior.  Inside I’ll find a dimly lit slightly shabby bar where a wrinkled sea dog tells windswept tales.  Let me know if you find if first.
