Karibu Garden Centre Tea Garden, a reasonably priced meal and outdoor family fun

Karibu tea garden Mum & Acacia

After an idyllic day on Umdloti beach, Mum took us to the tea garden at Karibu Garden Centre (nursery) opposite Burndale for treats.  Apparently Burndale is really expensive these days.  When you’re a family party of 7, the last thing we wanted was a whopping bill.

The lady managing the tea garden at Karibu is charming and hospitable.  The menu is not vast but quite sufficient.  The most expensive item costing R45.  Between us we enjoyed toasted sandwiches, pancakes, feather-light scones, scrambled eggs and omelette.

After enjoying the food, we browsed the nursery.  My sister-in-law bought 4 very reasonably priced indigenous plants for her garden.

I recommend the tea garden / restaurant at Karibu nursery as a lovely place to enjoy a light meal or tea.
