Harold Porter Botanical Garden – Betty’s Bay

I have always loved Botanical gardens.  Here in South Africa we have many gems.  When I lived in Durban, tea and scones at the Durban Botanical Gardens was a regular treat.  Cliff and I were married at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden in Johannesburg.

Last week we visited the Harold Porter Botanical Garden in Betty’s Bay.  The setting is beautiful when going on a short walk you can see the sea on one side and mountains on the other.  The fynbos plants are very special.  We spotted a wonderfully camouflaged lizard.

We enjoyed soft serve ice creams and milkshakes at the restaurant after our walk.
