If there is somewhere to go for tea and cake on a Saturday afternoon in Paarl we didn’t find it. The town is so beautiful, if I were to live in the Western Cape it would be my top choice from the areas which we have seen, but on a Saturday afternoon it was impossible to find a tea garden or coffee shop open. We were so thirsty and hunted exhaustively, searching the gps, driving randomly and doing google searches on our cell phones, to no avail.
Eventually we drove into Laborie Wine Farm where we were able to quench our thirst at the balcony restaurant Harvest, but no desserts or cakes were available which was a pity. We would love to visit there again for a meal as the menu looked very tempting.
They also have a kids menu which is a big plus when out with Children. A jungle gym and slide was great for the kids to play on while we sat and relaxed in the shade.
